The CoolSculpting® fat reduction procedure is specifically designed for those who have unwanted fat that resists diet and exercise. CoolSculpting® is not a weight-loss treatment.

CoolSculpting® should not be used in patients with cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria. Your provider will also review your medical history and ask about factors such as pregnancy, recent surgery, hernias, cold sensitivity, circulation, nerve conditions, skin conditions and other factors that may affect whether treatment is appropriate for you.

The price for CoolSculpting® procedures varies depending on your areas of concern, the number of sessions needed, and your ultimate goals. We will help create a customized treatment plan, in person, that’s tailored to your body, your goals, and your budget.

The length of your CoolSculpting® session will vary depending on the number of areas being treated during one visit. Each area takes 35-75 minutes depending on the applicator used. Most treatments take a few hours total.

Two CoolSculpting® sessions 4-8 weeks apart is standard, though we may recommend additional sessions in order to meet your goals.

During treatment, you may feel pulling, tugging, mild pinching and intense cold as the applicator is placed. Tingling, stinging, aching or cramping may also occur. As the treatment area becomes numb, these sensations generally decrease. Many people read, watch videos, work on their laptop, or even take a nap!

After the applicator is removed, the area may feel firm, numb, tender or sensitive. Most patients can return to normal activities after treatment.

You may start to see changes as quickly as four weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after two months. But your body will still flush out fat cells and continues doing so for up to four to six months after treatment.

The treated fat cells are crystallized (frozen) and your body processes the fat and eliminates these dead cells. Once the treated fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good.

Many people, after seeing the results from their CoolSculpting® procedure, take even better care of themselves. However, if you do gain weight, you may gain it evenly all over your body, not just in the treated areas.

The CoolSculpting® procedure is completely non-surgical, so typically you can return to normal activities immediately. Often times, patients return to work after their CoolSculpting® session is over.

Common effects during or shortly after treatment may include pulling, tugging, mild pinching, intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, cramping and temporary discomfort as the treatment area becomes numb.

After treatment, you may experience temporary redness, swelling, bruising, firmness, tenderness, cramping, aching, itching, tingling or numbness. Changes in sensation can sometimes persist for several weeks as the treated area returns to normal.

Side effects vary by person and treatment area. Your provider will review what you can expect before treatment and provide appropriate aftercare instructions.

Rare and very rare complications are also possible. These include paradoxical hyperplasia, a delayed enlargement of the treated area; severe or late-onset pain; changes in skin pigmentation; and, very rarely, a freeze burn or other complications.
